Adult Education

Sunday School

Adult Education classes meet from 9:30-10:30 during our program year, September-May.

At First Presbyterian, we believe that developing a mature faith requires continuing study and discussion. We have outstanding Adult Sunday school classes led by many talented members for our curious minds at FPC.  Dynamic speakers are recruited for leading spirited discussions!

We will once again have 2 options for Adult Faith Formation this year. Both classes will begin with a “welcoming all” themed curriculum. This is a great way to get reacquainted and remember that Jesus welcomed all to His table.  Our Parlor class will then enjoy outside speakers as they dive into some Social Justice Issues. Topics on issues like fostering children, domestic violence, racial inequities, and homelessness will be discussed. The downstairs class will then begin a wide variety of topics to engage those of any age and place on their faith journey.

Bible Studies

Lectionary Study - We meet each Tuesday from 8:30 - 10 a.m. in the Parlor, with the first 15 minutes for social time.  We open with prayer. There are four Bible selections for each week, which we discuss. All participate in the discussion, and we are all very open to each others' opinions, accepting and listening and learning.

Book Study - From Daughters to Disciples will connect us with women of the New Testament. From faithful forerunners like Ann and Elizabeth to female disciples like the sisters Mary, Martha, and Mary Magdalene to first-generation followers like Lydia and Dorcas, we will encounter a wealth of fore-mothers in all their messy, yet redeemable, humanity.  We will meet on Tuesday mornings from 10:00-11:00am at First Presbyterian Church.
