Session Update

 The months of May and June have been a time of transition for the Session at FPC. We celebrated the leadership of Wes Davis, Kris Evans,  April Gamble, and Laura Neill as they concluded their time on Session after 6 years each. They will continue to be in leadership and care of the church as they are each dedicated members of committees and coordinating teams. We welcomed new Elders: Kim Ogle, Jason Reith, and Jim Webster, along with three youth Elders: Lydia Dunlap, Olivia Kelly and Cadie Webb. Orientation for these new Elders is scheduled for July 22 and they will be ordained into this ministry on July 26, 2026.
 
Session has learned about and acted on several motions, including the approval of the lease agreement between FPC Wooster and Montessori School Wooster, which began July 1. A monthly rent will be received and a portion of the lower level of the church will be shared with this school program. We welcome this program and the students, staff and families associated with it! Another motion approved updated Mission and Vision statements to be shared on the church website. This recommendation was from the Pastor Nominating Committee. Each month, the PNC has kept Session informed on their work and will continue to hold weekly “Office Hours” prior to Sunday service, in the Gathering Area. This is a time when questions, comments and support can be shared with a member of the PNC. Watch the NewsFlash for other updates. Periodic updates will also be shared during the Ministry Focus portion of a Sunday service.
