Session Highlights
March 25, 2026 meeting
Current Session members met with Matt Skolnik, Executive Presbyter of Muskingum Valley Presbytery, prior to the regular monthly Session meeting. The purpose of this conversation was to update MVP of the work of our congregation and Session together and to learn more about steps forward during this journey of pastoral transition. A Pastor Nominating Committee was elected by the congregation on March 22 and will have their first meeting on April 6. Members of this group include: Steve LoGiudice, Luke Armour, Roy Haynes, Laura Neill, Julie Miller, Sarah Davis, Trevor Dunlap, Carol Gates and Lisa Rumbaugh.
The monthly Session meeting included reports from each of the coordinating teams, highlighting upcoming events including a Church Work Day on Saturday, April 11, Annual Congregational meeting on May 3, following a potluck lunch (after 10:30 worship service), continuation of the Baby Bundles project for CAMO, planning for Holy Week services and ongoing work of the Nominating Team. Personnel also reported that annual staff reviews are planned for the May, with ongoing support for the staff during this transition period. RDM reported that income exceeded expenses in February. A report on the lower level rental agreement was shared and Session saw the banners that will be placed on church property to advertise the Montessori program that is coming to FPC. Our church will also be an evacuation destination for students at St. Mary’s School in the case of an emergency.
Rev. Rice shared pastoral care concerns, including the passing of a former staff member, Donna RuLon. There will be a new class during the education hour (9:15 a.m.) for those who want to learn more about our church, its ministries and structure. This class will be held on April 19, 26 and May 3 in the Parlor. Come and join others to connect and learn!
